Trainer Roger Schmidt is satisfied with the PSV training camp in Marienfeld, Germany. The team from Eindhoven played two exhibition games this weekend and both won them 0-3.

"Not only the result, but also the way of playing gives confidence", Schmidt said on Sunday in conversation with the Eindhovens Dagblad . "It's a good sign that we didn't hit any hits. We're still far from perfect, but we've mastered some of the basics and are now going to work on the details."

PSV trained in Germany all week in preparation for the first two exhibition matches of the season. The people from Eindhoven won against SC Verl on Saturday and proved too strong for KFC Uerdingen on Sunday with the same figures, which both play at the third level of Germany.

"Playing two games at the end of the training camp was perhaps much in demand after a tough week," Schmidt admitted. "The players have tried to translate things into the game. We looked a bit tired, but overall I am very satisfied with their attitude."

PSV will continue the practice campaign next Saturday with a home game against Vitesse. Although some players made a strong impression this week, including forwards Noni Madueke and Sam Lammers, Schmidt is not yet thinking of a fixed starting line-up.

"We are still a long way from the start of the competition and everything is open. The players who are good now may not be later. We are now getting each other in good shape and at the end it has to be optimal."
