Kenyan runner Kiproto infected with Corona virus
Konsilos Kiproto, the Kenyan Olympic champion in steeplechase, announced today, Sunday, that he has been infected with the new Corona virus.
Kipruto confirmed on social media that he would thus miss the Diamond League match in Monaco next week.
"I do not suffer from any symptoms and I was ready," Kipruto said, indicating that he had intended to compete to break the world record during the Diamond League match on August 14th.
All participants in the Monaco meeting are subject to tests to detect Corona, which showed that Kiproto was infected.
The Kenyan runner explained, "Athletics are back and I will also. Is there anyone who wants to organize a steeplechase race after my recovery?"
