A tournament-based tournament-based tournament where the team that won the original high school baseball tournament held in 6 prefectures of the Tohoku region began in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture on the 9th.

This competition is the only regional competition in the country where the teams that have won the original competitions of the prefectures compete for the district competition, as summer high school baseball was canceled due to the new coronavirus.

At the Ishinomaki Municipal Stadium, one match was held on the 9th, with Tsurugaoka Higashi High School in Yamagata and Aomori Yamada High School in Aomori playing against each other.

As a countermeasure against the new coronavirus, there was no opening ceremony and only the third-year parents who were allowed to watch the game and the waiting members watched, while Tsuruoka Higashi was in the second half of the game, Shotaro Yamaji's two-run home run, and Aomori Yamada's good pitcher Ryu Komuta captured the pitcher and won 4 to 1.

Tsuruoka Higashi will face the Seigakuin in Fukushima in the semifinals on the 10th.

On the other hand, another game on September 9th, Sendai Ikuei High School vs Iwate Ichinoseki Gakuin in Miyagi, became a no-game due to rain at the end of the second inning, and was postponed on the 10th.

Therefore, the final of the tournament will be held on the 12th of this month.
