All athletes who are to compete must take a covid-19 test. When Conseslus Kipruto, who is the reigning Olympic and World Cup gold medalist in the 3000 meter hurdles, did so, it showed that he had the coronavirus. Thus, the 25-year-old may not be in the Diamond League premiere on Friday.

"Our world is going through a challenging time and we must all take our responsibility," Kipruto wrote on Instagram, but assured that he was fine:

"I have no symptoms and was actually in great shape. My plan was to try to set a world record. It's been a long time since any Kenyan has had it and as a World Cup and Olympic champion, I strongly feel that it is also something I should have ”.
