Björn Goop took home Åby's grand prize

Goop took home the international grand slam for the second time.

This time, however, it was very different compared to 2016 when he won with the French horse Un Mec d'Héripré. Then the race was decided over the sprint distance, 1,640 meters over two heats. This time the race went over 3140 meters.

But above all, the race was run without an audience in the stands.

Björn Goop thus took home just over SEK 2 million in prize money to the horse's owner. Björn Goop's father, Olle, also won Åby's grand prize on two occasions, in 1974 and 1985.
