  The Premier League official statement: "At today's Premier League shareholders meeting, the club passed the 2020/21 season VAR and the use of substitutes. The club agreed that the implementation of VAR is fully in line with the FIFA VAR use rules. The club also passed the new season and will resume A maximum of 3 players can be replaced in each game, and a maximum of 7 players can be on the bench."

  At the shareholders meeting on Thursday morning, the Premier League clubs voted on the rules for substitution of the Premier League for the 2020-2021 season. As a result, the rule of 5 players per game was opposed. Out of a total of 20 clubs, 11 clubs voted against it.

  This vote obviously failed to reach the threshold of 14 yes votes required to modify the rules for the new season. According to foreign media, non-elite clubs are unanimously opposed to this change, they believe it will benefit the rich team, because these teams often have a stronger lineup. The Premier League will return to only 3 substitutions next season.
