Motor racing association FIA severely punished Racing Point on Friday for copying parts of the Mercedes car. The team has to hand in fifteen World Cup points and is fined 400,000 euros.
The FIA had a hearing on Wednesday to hear the case of Racing Point. This is in response to a protest by Renault, which believes that Racing Point has illegally copied some parts from last year's Mercedes champion car.
The protest specifically concerned the brake cooling. In Formula 1 it is allowed, for example, to take over the engine and gearbox from other teams, but the design of the cars must be made by the teams themselves.
