[Explanation] As the table tennis venue for the 31st Summer Universiade in 2021, the Chengdu High-tech Zone Sports Center (hereinafter referred to as the Sports Center) takes the Shu brocade as its design inspiration and has a unique shape. Looking down from a high altitude, three white pearls are inlaid in a green ecology, shining brightly. On August 5, the interior decoration project of the sports center is in full swing.
[Explanation] It is understood that the sports center has a total construction area of 201,600 square meters. It is composed of a multi-functional gymnasium, a national fitness center, and a service center. It is an indoor comprehensive Grade A gymnasium that can accommodate 12,993 spectators. It can not only host the NBA pre-season The competition can also meet the requirements of domestic competitions and international individual competitions such as basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, ice hockey, and short-track speed skating, as well as the needs of cultural performances, conferences and exhibitions.
[Explanation] Yi Minghua, project manager of China Construction Fourth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., introduced that the sports center project has a complex structural design, unique shape, and numerous special-shaped components, which is a huge challenge to traditional construction methods. At the same time, the project is also faced with problems such as actual operation caused by different functional zones during the construction process due to the large area of the venue. In addition, the sports center was finally confirmed as a venue for the Universiade, which also shortened the construction period of the venue. Faced with the unique design of the venue, coupled with the tight construction period, the hardcore technology is behind the efficient and high-quality construction while ensuring the construction period.

The whole design idea of this venue adopts a rhythm and flowing feeling of Shu brocade. Therefore, our entire façade is all outwardly inclined, and all our curtain walls and perforated aluminum panels are all curved. Therefore, the shape of the entire curtain wall construction is more complicated. In order to promote the construction of the project, some relatively new technologies were adopted for construction. For example, our large-volume concrete skipping construction method actually saved us a lot of time.

Because our stadium is a large space structure, as our traditional lofting, we have no problem with a plane lofting, but the space lofting is more complicated. We used a lofting robot for the first time in Sichuan Province to carry out an automated lofting. The first is to improve our stakeout accuracy, and the second is to greatly improve our stakeout efficiency. From the original one of our team requires at least three people (resources), now I can complete a stakeout by myself. This piece is of great help to our on-site accuracy and our quality control.
[Explanation] It is understood that since the official start of construction in the second half of 2017, after more than two years of accelerated construction, the facade of the project has been shaped, and the decoration and renovation progress is being fully promoted. It is expected to be completed and accepted by the end of 2020.
