The doctors have decided not to try to wake Fabio Jakobsen from his artificial coma until Friday. The situation of the cyclist who crashed on Wednesday in the first stage of the Tour of Poland is still serious but stable.

An attempt would initially be made on Thursday to take Jakobsen out of his artificial coma, but the doctors are waiting a day longer because they don't want to rush anything.

One of the doctors treating Jakobsen, Pawel Gruenpeter, remains cautious. "I hope there is no damage to his nervous system. We must remember that the patient was resuscitated for about an hour yesterday," he told Sporza .

More soon.
