A German doctor said that allowing the presence of about 20 thousand fans in the stadiums is "completely fake", in light of the efforts to return the fans to football stadiums in Germany again.

Doctor Michael Geisler, director of a clinic in Esslingen, southern Germany, said in remarks published by the newspapers "Stuttgart-Zeitung" and "Stuttgart-Nachrichten" today, Wednesday, that the pilot projects will not actually see the presence of more than one thousand, two thousand or five thousand fans.

He added: "In view of the current developments in the number of cases (infected with the emerging coronavirus), we find that the presence of between 15,000 and 20,000 fans in the stadiums is completely fake."

Politicians also expressed reservations on the day following the approval of the 36 clubs participating in the first and second division football competitions in Germany, on principles designed to allow the fans to return to the stands again with the start of the season, which begins next September.

On Tuesday, the clubs agreed to adhere to a strict safety protocol and procedures, including the lack of attendance of fans of the guest team, the lack of presence, gathering and support of the fans on the concrete terraces with barriers in the stadiums, as well as the non-sale of alcoholic beverages at the stadiums, with the imposition of a system of tickets for their holders.

"I am very skeptical about the Bundesliga proposal to hold the Bundesliga matches with the presence of the fans again," Bremen state Interior Minister Ulrich Maurer said in comments to the newspaper "Visser Courier".

He added: "No one can now anticipate the situation in September and any challenges that we will have to face."
