Representatives from the Swedish Football Association, the Motorcycle Association, the Motorsport Association and the National Sports Association are invited to the meeting with Sports Minister Amanda Lind.

The meeting will discuss the possibility of admitting audiences to Swedish arenas in the future. The restrictions for several months now are that no more than 50 people may attend sports events at the same time due to the corona pandemic.

- Above all, it is very positive that the meeting will take place. We see that the pandemic is going in the right direction in Sweden, and around us, and in many other countries it has been opened up to the public. And then we think it's time to bring up the discussion about easing the 50-person limit and find solutions to welcome the fans to our matches, says Karl-Erik Nilsson, who also sent an open letter to the Minister of Sports about the audience restrictions.

Believes in flexible solutions

For football, Nilsson believes in flexible solutions. But not to get stuck with a specific number of spectators.

- I think you should look at the conditions arena for arena. We must see it in perspective both in terms of breadth and for elite football. I do not think it would be particularly good if you find a fixed amount, and that it should apply everywhere. I think it can be smart if there are responsible flexible solutions that can look a little different, where you can safely welcome the audience, says Karl-Erik Nilsson.

Nilsson believes that there are good hopes that the restrictions will be eased and that spectators can be admitted to the arenas again in the near future.

- It is our absolute hope, and it is a very good sign that we get to this conversation with the Minister of Sports. It shows that the government has understood the problem, and understands how important this is from several perspectives. This is the most important outcome of the meeting on Thursday, says Karl-Erik Nilsson.
