“This year we are meeting in new conditions: the organizers have implemented large-scale security measures for the participants, and the spectators were asked to refrain from support at the start and finish in order to avoid a large crowd of people,” said Alexei Kondarantsev, head of the Moscow Sports Department.

He noted that the event is being held for the seventh time. According to Kondarantsev, the number of people wishing to participate in the half marathon has increased compared to last year.

Kondarantsev added that all the runners are in great shape.

As part of the sporting event, 21.1 km and 5 km races and a corporate relay were available. Participants of the main distance ran a circle along the central embankments of the city.

As the city news agency "Moscow" reported with reference to the capital's mayor's office, the event was attended by about 13 thousand people.

The absolute winner of the Moscow Half Marathon was Rinas Akhmadeev, who ran 21.1 km in 1 hour 4 minutes and 24 seconds. At the same time, among girls, Elena Korobkina ran the fastest distance of 21.1 km - 1 hour 10 minutes and 29 seconds.

At a distance of 5 km, Anton Tishakin and Svetlana Aplachkina won.
