Goal in the first minute and Young's handsome ball

The main intrigue of the last round of Serie A was the fate of the silver medals. On Saturday, in a face-to-face match, two contenders came together - Atalanta and Inter. At the same time, the Bergamos had to gain three points in order to bypass the opponent in the standings.

Lazio also had a chance to take second place. To do this, the Romans needed to beat Napoli on the road and count on a draw in Bergamo.

However, it quickly became clear that the Milanese would not give the silver to anyone. The guests opened an account at the end of the first minute. During the opening attack, they earned a corner, which ended with a serve by Ashley Young from the flank and an accurate header from Danilo D'Ambrosio from the goalie.

And in the middle of the first half, the Briton scored on his own. He moved from the left edge to the center and delivered a beautiful dribbling blow into the far corner from outside the penalty area.

In the second half of the meeting, the hosts tried to rectify the situation and attacked with all their might, but Inter defended calmly and did not allow the opponent to create a large number of chances at their goal. The triple substitution from Gian Piero Gasperini after an hour of the meeting did not help either.

Thus, Inter took the second place in the Italian championship for the first time in nine years. Atalanta, despite the defeat, remained third and also received a direct ticket to the group stage of the Champions League.

A yellow card to the coach and a sloppy tackle

A quick goal was scored in Naples. The unmotivated Napoli, which had already secured a place in the Europa League thanks to the victory in the Italian Cup, came out ahead in the ninth minute. Fabian Ruiz from outside the penalty area struck a beautiful blow into the far corner.

But Lazio quickly managed to recoup. Ciro Immobile, who has guaranteed himself the Golden Boot at the end of the season as the top scorer of the national championships of the UEFA countries, has scored 36th goal. Also, the 30-year-old became the first Italian award winner in 13 years. In 2007, she went to Francesco Totti.

Along the way, the striker repeated the Serie A scoring record of Gonzalo Higuain and Gino Rossetti, who over the years also chalked up 36 goals at the end of the season.

In the second half, Simone Inzaghi's wards came out with a desire to snatch victory, especially since they had a great chance to rise to third place. However, the capital's team was ruined by the careless play of Marco Parolo in his own penalty area. The midfielder knocked down an opponent in a sliding tackle, and Lorenzo Insigne converted a penalty.

The missed ball had an extremely negative impact on the guests. They practically did not succeed in attack, and the opponent was in no hurry to go forward with large forces. In the end, even Inzaghi lost his nerve, who received a yellow card for arguing with the judge.

But the emotions of the specialist did not help his charges to rectify the situation. They were defeated and, finishing on a par with Atalanta, lost third place to her in additional indicators.

Perotti's double and Roma's strong-willed victory

But Cristiano Ronaldo, who theoretically could take away the Golden Boot from Immobile, stopped at the 31st goal scored in Serie A. The Portuguese did not get into the application for the last round match with Roma.

However, this did not prevent Juventus from taking the lead in the fifth minute. Gonzalo Higuain scored a kick from the goalkeeper after a corner kick.

But the Romans, even before the break, managed not only to recoup, but also to come out ahead. First, Roma responded to the rival with an effective corner - Nikola Kalinich equalized the score.

And then the guests earned a penalty. 18-year-old debutant Riccardo Calafiori easily beat Danilo in someone else's penalty area and forced the Brazilian to break the rules. Diego Perotti confidently realized the penalty spot.

Right after the break, the midfielder scored a double. However, almost a greater contribution to this goal was made by Nicolo Zagnolo, who passed half of the field with the ball and gave an accurate pass to Perotti. Diego helped to distinguish the ricochet from the defender.

Juventus had practically no chances to save the meeting, but at the end of the meeting even the third goalkeeper of the team Marco Olivieri appeared on the field, who had already been substituted twice in the summer. In addition to him, young footballers such as Gianluca Frabotta, Simone Muratore, Luca Zanimaccia and Giacomo Vrioni got their chance in the Turin team.

Milan's ninth win after the season resumption and Klavan's own goal

But Milan ended the season on a positive note. In the last round match, Stefano Pioli's charges defeated Cagliari - 3: 0. Ragnar Klavan, defender of the opponent, helped open the score already in the tenth minute. After hitting the post, the ball from the Estonian's leg ricocheted right into the net.

At the end of the first half, Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a great chance to score, but the Swede failed to convert the penalty.

But immediately after the break, the striker distinguished himself from the game. The veteran from the corner of the penalty area struck an accurate shot in the distant nine. The 38-year-old finished the season with ten goals and five assists. In the team scorers' race, Ibrahimovic lost only to Ante Rebić, who has 11 accurate shots in Serie A.

The point in the confrontation with Cagliari was put by Samuel Castillejo, who scored two points for performance in this meeting. Milan won their ninth league title after resuming the season and extended their unbeaten run to 12 games.
