The second summer transfer period for the clubs in the Eredivisie and Kitchen Champion Division starts on Wednesday, August 5 and lasts until Tuesday, October 6, the KNVB has decided on Thursday.
The football association's decision means that the transfer window in the Netherlands ends almost at the same time as the period in countries such as Germany, Spain and Italy, where the deadline is 24 hours earlier (October 5 at 11:59 pm).
Due to the corona crisis, all countries have had to adjust the dates of the transfer period. Due to the prematurely halted season in the Eredivisie and Keuken Kampioen Division, there was already a first window in the Netherlands, which ran from 1 to 21 July.
In the period between July 21 and August 5, the clubs are allowed to attract players and let them train. The acquisitions may not come out in (practice) matches during that period.
Earlier on Thursday, the KNVB announced with a view to next season to allow five substitutes in both the Eredivisie and Keuken Kampioen Division. This follows the line of the international rules of the game IFAB.
The Eredivisie season starts on Saturday 12 September with the FC Utrecht-AZ match. The first games in the Kitchen Champion Division are on August 28.
