Three Colombian riders from the UAE team did not start the 2nd stage of the Tour de Burgos on Wednesday as a precaution. Their training announced that Sebastien Molano, Cristian Munoz and Camilo Ardila "have been placed in solitary confinement, sent home and will be subjected to another test" after coming into contact with a person (out of the race) who tested positive for Covid-19.

The previous two tests were negative

The team also recalled that the results of their two tests, carried out before the event as required by the UCI guidelines, were negative. Before the start of the first stage, the day before, the coronavirus had already reminded the peloton through the Israel SN team who had to withdraw, "as a precaution" also, the Israeli Itamar Einhorn and the Briton Alex Dowsett committed.

Both had recently been in contact with their teammate Omer Goldstein, so far asymptomatic but positive for Covid-19 and quarantined on Monday.
