As we say across the Channel, "who else"? Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has been voted England Coach of the Year by his peers. The German led the Reds to their first Premier League coronation in 30 years.

This distinction from the German was heralded by Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson, who gave the trophy his name. “Jurgen, fantastic,” Ferguson said on Sky Sports. "We talk a lot about Leeds who have just spent 16 years in the Championship (English D2), but Liverpool, who had to wait 30 years, it's incredible," he added.

"I have to say 'thank you' to a lot of people. I am here on behalf of my coaches."

“You really deserve it. The level of performance of your team was remarkable. Your personality inspires your club in all its components. It was a wonderful performance. And I forgive you for waking me up at 3.30am to tell me you won the championship, ”Sir Alex also said.

Klopp and his admiration for Sir Alex

"I know it's not 100% appropriate to say that, as a Liverpool coach, but I admire him… And I remember he was the first British coach I met," said entrusted the former technician of Borussia Dortmund. “We had breakfast together. I don't know if he remembers it, but I do, because it was as if I was meeting the Pope. It was great and we've always gotten along well ever since. I never thought at that point that I would ever have a trophy with his name in my hands, ”Klopp added.
