ARAF asked World Athletics to postpone the decision on the status of the federation

“The Presidium informed the council about the first meeting of the commission for the restoration of ARAF membership in World Athletics held on July 27 and about the decisions taken at it. In particular, about the development of an up-to-date ARAF roadmap for overcoming the crisis, which will reflect the reforms necessary for Russian athletics, the purpose of which is to become a reliable ally of World Athletics in the fight for pure sport, ”the statement says. 

In the letter, ARAF also asks the World Athletics Council to separate two issues - the situation with the payment of the fine and the situation with the joint work of the two organizations. It is noted that at the moment ARAF does not have money to pay the fine.

The World Athletics Council meeting will be held from July 29-30.

Earlier it was reported that ARAF will send a letter to the World Athletics Council on July 28.
