China News Service, Tangshan, July 28 (Baiyunshui Hu Xiangming) In the summer, the heat wave hits the beach, and the golden sand beach of Tangshan International Tourism Island is even more uniform. At 10:10 in the morning on July 28, Yang Jianxin, a sailor, was driving a kayak in the thousands of miles away from time to time. From far to near, he gradually drew ashore amid the eager call of a pair of daughters. He set off from Shandong Dongying sea area at 6:56 a.m. on the 27th and successfully crossed the Bohai Bay after about 27 hours.

On the same day, Yang Jianxin's family and friends, media reporters and nautical enthusiasts who came here gathered at the Golden Beach of Tangshan International Tourism Island to hold a welcome ceremony for him.

According to previous media reports, in the 2019 Kayak Crossing the Bohai Bay Challenge, a duo became China's first duo to successfully cross the Bohai Bay despite the failure of many players.

And Yang Jianxin challenged the extreme sport of single kayaking this time without rest, uninterrupted, and no supplies. He was accompanied by GPS, navigation identifiers, Beidou trackers, satellite phones and other equipment, supplemented with water bags, beef jerky, chocolate, etc., and carried special sailing suits, spare paddles and other necessary items. The kayak he drives is 5.2 meters long and 0.7 meters wide, and has no power system.

Kayaking sailing without wind speed and equipment assistance, relying on physical fitness and technology throughout the process to overcome difficulties and challenge the limit. Yang Jianxin almost fell when he exited the "cabin" and landed, but he thought he still had room for his physical fitness. When reviewing this trip, he said an "episode": more than an hour after the departure, he encountered strong current pressure, he constantly adjusted the direction according to the changes, zigzag, and resisted the strong current pressure for more than 8 hours. The average speed of the voyage was 3.6 nautical miles per hour, the straight-line distance was 60 nautical miles, and the actual distance was 97 nautical miles.

The vast sea, a flat boat. Yang Jianxin said that he has no strangers or fears about the ocean. "It is very romantic to be accompanied by moonlight in the night." Yang Jianxin described how he felt when sailing alone at night.

During his voyage, the shore team on the Tangshan International Tourism Island kept an eye on his coordinates and trajectory through maritime satellites, and contacted him at any time through maritime telephones. According to his apprentice Sun Liming, his speed is basically maintained at about 3 knots. The speed is reduced by ocean currents and crosswinds at night, but the overall plan is in line with expectations.

Prior to this, Yang Jianxin had completed a 32-day voyage around the China Sea in a single-handed sailboat. Earlier, two Chinese records of a single 4-meter sailboat crossing the Bohai Sea and a 26-foot sailboat sailing around the Bohai Sea have been completed. Since he came to Tangshan International Tourism Island in 2015, he has sailed on the sea 300 days a year. "Integrating with the sailing boat" has become Yang Jianxin's greatest pleasure.

Yang Jianxin believes that the difficulty of driving a kayak to challenge extreme sports is mainly physical fitness. This time kayaking through the Bohai Bay, the physical exertion is equivalent to running 4 marathons.

Yang Jianxin revealed that if the conditions are met, he plans to complete the extreme sport across the Pacific Ocean from the Bohai Bay in a sailboat alone between the end of this year and May next year, fulfilling the wishes of many sailors and shocking the world for Chinese navigation. (Finish)
