The newcomers Varberg have done surprisingly well in the Allsvenskan. In ten rounds played, they had collected 14 points and were in seventh place. But even today's opponent Elfsborg has done well and was ahead of today's meeting in a split second place.

And it was an even event, which was decided by a goalkeeper. For the second time this Allsvenskan season, a goalkeeper entered the goal record, with only seconds left of the match. A goal that saved a point for Varberg.

It was the guests Varberg who took the lead already in match minute 8 against Elfsborg when Daniel Krezic sent in a post in the goal area which Astrit Seljmani skillfully passed on to Tashreeq Matthews. 19-year-old Matthews took care of the chance and scored his first goal in the Allsvenskan.

In the 32nd minute, the home team Elfsborg was awarded a penalty after Anton Liljenbäck fouled Johan Larsson in the penalty area.

Elfsborg took over

Jesper Karlsson took care of the free kick and safely placed the ball in the left corner.

- It's a tough first half. They are tough in their adjustments. I thought before the match that this is almost more difficult than facing the top teams, they are fighting, said Jesper Karlsson in Dplay's broadcast during the break.

In the second half, it was Elfsborg who had the most pressure.

Which paid off in the end.

In the 67th minute, the home team took the lead. Rasmus Alm took down a high ball with his right foot, then took a short run and sent in 2-1 to Elfsborg.

Then followed some eventful minutes.

The goalkeeper in the goal record

Varberg were quick to replicate and just three minutes later they equalized when Erion Sadiku made it 2-2.

But it only took two minutes before Elfsborg took the lead again.

Jesper Karlsson offered a real dream goal when he half "kicked the bike" in 3-2.

After that, Elfsborg looked to go towards three points when Varberg got a corner with only seconds left of the match.

When the post came into the goal area, the ball was nodded in by Varberg's goalkeeper August Strömberg. But judging by the TV pictures, the Elfsborg goalkeeper may have been on the ball with his hands before it went into goal. But Strömberg was set up as a goal scorer.

- I really do not know. I did not realize that it went into goal until people started shouting. I got a slap in the face, maybe it was from his hand, said August Strömberg in Dplay's broadcast after the match.

- I take it on, it is not often you get to score goals, the first of your career.

The same thing happened on July 19 when Helsingborg's goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard nodded in 2-2 against Falkenberg and saved a point for his team.
