Madelen Janogy was one of Piteå's and Damallsvenskan's best players last year, was successful when Sweden took World Cup bronze in France and was recruited in December by the big team Wolfsburg. But only after less than six months in Germany, Janogy and Wolfsburg broke the contract, after the national team player paid attention to his problems with mental illness.

The 24-year-old has been in Sweden for the past few weeks and is now approaching a comeback on the football field

Want to play matches

- She has decided that she wants to start training and playing matches again, says Janogy's agent Maria Karlsson De Cecco.

It is clear that she will return to the damallsvenskan. The choice is between the top clubs Piteå and Linköping.

- She will make a decision in the very near future. She has visited both Piteå and Linköping. Right now she is thinking about what could be the best alternative, says Karlsson De Cecco.

Earlier this summer, Janogy was up in Piteå and then trained with his old teammates.

Still thinking

- We have a dialogue with her but we know nothing more than that "Madde" is still thinking about what she should do, says Piteå's sports director Leif Strandh.

According to Maria Karlsson De Cecco, no final decision has been made. In Piteå, of course, the door is kept open - but the choice may still fall on the competitor Linköping.

- We had not included Madelen Janogy with us this year, but of course it would be fantastic if she would come here. But we have put that aside. It will be "Madde" who gets to decide what she wants to do, says Leif Strandh.
