The contract with Chelsea will be Fleming's first professional contract.

She most recently came from a game with the UCLA Bruins, a university team in California, where she scored 25 goals in 75 games.

Fleming made his national team debut already in 2015 and has represented Canada in 77 international matches so far in his career. This includes the 2015 FIFA World Cup and 2019. On her CV, she also has an Olympic bronze from 2016.

- I already knew that I wanted to play in WSL. I think the league is good and contains lots of fantastic players, so I am really charged, says Fleming in a comment on Chelsea's website.

Fleming will be Chelsea's third signing for the coming season. Earlier, midfielder Melanie Leupolz and striker Niamh Charles were brought in.
