Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said that receiving the Premier League Cup from Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish later on Wednesday would be very special.

Liverpool meet Chelsea team today in the last game for Liverpool at its home stadium in the English Premier League this season, where the championship cup will be delivered to the team in a special celebration at "Anfield" after the end of the match, despite the absence of fans.

Liverpool had won the title of the competition weeks before, seven complete stages before the end of the competition, to be the first title of the team in the competition in three decades, specifically since 1990 when Dalglish was a player and coach of the team at the same time.

Henderson said, in comments to the BBC, "He (Dalglish) is an icon in Liverpool Football Club. A wonderful person we all love."

Dalglish took over from Liverpool for a second term in 2011, replacing coach Roy Hodgson.

Dalglish was responsible for Liverpool's contract with Henderson from Sunderland when the player was still 21 years old.

Henderson, who is absent from today's match due to a knee injury, said his move to Liverpool was met with skepticism and controversy from many.

He added: "In the end, you will be criticized, whether in the past, now, or in the future as a footballer."

Besides winning the Premier League title this season, Henderson crowned Liverpool with the Champions League and Club World Cup titles last year.
