The reason for the decision is the corona crisis and follows Prime Minister Boris Johnson's announcement on Friday. Then he said that audiences can be possible at arenas in the country at the earliest in October. As there is not enough time to be able to arrange an entire season with spectators, the competitions are now canceled.

- It is only the Prime Minister's statement on Friday that means that we have no choice, says Rob Godfrey, chairman of British Speedway Promoters in a statement on the union's website.

No elite-level Speedway events will be implemented in the country until 2021.
