He has since been plunged into an artificial coma due to hyperthermia and hepatitis. Nicolas Gigot then underwent an emergency liver transplant, then an amputation of both legs, to respond to the appearance of necrosis. A Facebook support page had been created by his father and had moved the world of rugby, from Johnny Wilkinson to Dan Carter.
