Two newcomers who have both been a fresh breath in Allsvenskan football - but there was no entertaining event between Varberg and Mjällby.

The guests' captain David Löfquist perhaps summed up the meeting best already at half time:

- No further football match. Two teams standing and tearing from the back line, he told Dplay.

Varberg started strongest and created his best goal chance when the match was only a few minutes old. That was far too lenient! Astrit Selmani did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.

Late punishment decided

In the second half, the match picture turned in the away team's favor, but without any really hot goal chances being created at Varberg Energi arena (formerly Påskbergsvallen) - until the 89th minute.

And then it was Varberg who received a dividend.

The visitors' Moses Ogbu did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch. The referee had no alternative but to show him another yellow card and send him from the pitch.

"Wonderfully"

Astrit Selmani managed the opportunity in the best way and put 1-0 cool next to the left post. The goal was the only match - something which means that Mjällby's suite of four straight victories (a club record in the Allsvenskan) has come to an end.

- It feels wonderful, says Selmani who scored his first goal since the double hits against Helsingborg in the premiere.

- I was pretty sure that he (goalkeeper Marko Johansson) would go to bed. It was just putting it on.

Varberg is now a new fourth in the Allsvenskan while Mjällby drops to a sixth place.
