After twelve years in the Eredivisie, Ellen Jansen opts for a foreign adventure. The 27-year-old attacker immediately exchanges Ajax for Valencia.
Jansen signs a two-year contract with Valencia. She had an expiring commitment at Ajax and indicated to the management that she did not want to extend it.
The striker was taken over from FC Twente in the summer of 2018 by Ajax. She grabbed the league title twice with the Amsterdam team, but she did win the KNVB cup in 2019.
Jansen made his debut in professional football at FC Twente in 2008. She had a very successful time in Enschede, including five league titles and two KNVB cups.
The Overijssel player has so far played sixteen international matches with the Orange women. She was part of the squad that finished second at the World Cup in France last year, but she did not play in that tournament.
Until recently, Mandy van den Berg played for Valencia, which finished last last in the Primera División. She will return to the Eredivisie with PSV this summer.
