In March, the SSL team Endre's 25-year-old star Sara Steen announced that her career was over. In a blog post on innebandymagazinet.se she talks about the suites after a concussion she suffered in January.

Steen was hoping for a quick comeback, but was forced to a hospital visit after a workout.

"Found a small deformity"

“Once home, I realize that something is very wrong. It's football on TV and I do not see the players on the field, everything is blurred and my head is pounding more and more. In the end so much that I can not keep my eyes open. From that night on, the fear of death ravaged me for several weeks. I thought one hundred percent that this would be my death ", she writes.

After several investigations, including a stroke test, a shocking message came.

"'We have found a small malformation on your brain from which it has soaked a bit'". Okay? What does that mean? Do I have a small brain haemorrhage or what? How to get rid of it and when can I play again? To be honest, I did not listen very carefully until I heard the words 'if I had been you, I would not have played floorball again' ".

"Happy again"

After that, the doctors changed the recommendation and said that she could return to floorball, but Steen still chose to quit.

The 25-year-old describes the void that followed the decision as tough, but writes that she now feels better.

"I'm happy again, I've realized I'm good at a lot of other things. I can train as I love to do, I sit here and am grateful and happy with life ", writes Steen.

She has double World Cup gold with Sweden, 2017 and 2019.
