- What a race! Best conceivable start to the season. Dixon was cheerfully happy after the drive from the ninth box.

Will Power finished second in the race. The Australian dropped the lead to Dixon during a tight depot stop. Spanish newcomer Alex Palou poked a lot with third place.

For Dixon's Swedish stable mates, things are much heavier.

Marcus Ericsson was seventh in the final lap when he got the cord on the car and dropped to tenth in the finish.

- Extremely frustrating. Dixon really shows that our cars are doing well, says Marcus in a press release.

Again, Ericsson had a failed qualification and had to start from the 13th box. He was one of the faster on the track in the race and actually the leader in two laps. Now Marcus has to get rid of the tormentor to approach the summit.

Felix Rosenqvist finished 18th after having problems with the car which began to suspect shortly after the first depot stop. Then last year's newcomer had a top 10 result going on.

- I wasn't far behind Dixon when it happened. Now I'm running for victory tomorrow, says a disappointed Rosenqvist as starting from the eighth box.

American Josef Newgarden clearly led halfway into the race. But the reigning champion, who was in pole position, got a motor stop in the depot and fell back to a 14th place.

Tonight, the second race in this so-called "double header" on Road America.

Time for the first Swedish pallet site of the season?
