Djurgården got off to a perfect start on the difficult away game against IFK Gothenburg. Already after nine minutes, Kalle Holmberg fell in the penalty area and referee Kaspar Sjöberg blew the penalty.

It shot Fredrik Ulvestad safely into the left corner of the goalkeeper.

Gothenburg had a couple, three good shot chances but Victor Wernersson (twice) and Sargon Abraham did not have enough gun in the dojo.

Djurgården also offered a lot of chances. Haris Radetinac served Aslak Witry who nodded hard at Ioannis Anestis. Radetinac also had a huge chance in the closing seconds of the first half as he shot hard over from an open position in the penalty area.

Fixed penalties, reds and goals

Before that, however, Kalle Holmberg had been on the move twice. First he fell when he passed Jesper Tolinsson who was sloppy with the ball and was expelled for trying to stop him. Then he was careful to come in and wrap up 2-0 on a pass from Radetinac.

With 37 minutes played, IFK Göteborg had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. Djurgården's keeper Per Kristian Bråtveit made a superb save.

The second half was not quite as eventful but enough to hold the hearts of both teams' supporters in the throat pit. Kalle Holmberg had a couple of good finishes early in the half. Djurgården then seemed to be able to play the game fairly easily.

The second penalty liked

But Gothenburg came back and managed to keep the game up despite ten men and after 62 minutes the team received penalty number two. This time, Bråtveit couldn't catch the ball as Hosam Aiesh cut it hard on the left.

IFK Gothenburg chased in vain a receipt the last half hour. Next up was Hosam Aiesh who was close to being able to meet a recording from Victor Wernersson from the left.
