Algeria's ES Setif club president Ezzedine Arab has revealed that the team is in urgent need of about $ 1.5 million to pay the salaries of its outstanding players for a while.
Arab states admitted that ES Setif was experiencing a stifling financial crisis, which it might suffer if it did not find a way to overcome it soon.
Arab said, in a statement to Algerian radio today, Friday, that he had contacted several companies to persuade them to sponsor the team in the coming period, but he made clear that he only got promises from them.
On the other hand, Araab affirmed that the decision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports not to authorize the resumption of sports competitions at the present time because of the spread of Corona virus confirms what the clubs were calling for, calling on the Algerian Football Association to take decisions that reserve the right of each team.
It is noteworthy that ES Setif occupies second place on the Algerian league standings table with 37 points, ahead of Mouloudia by goal difference, and 3 points behind the leaders of Belouizdad, 8 rounds before the end of the season suspended since mid-March.
