In August last year, Mattias Zachrisson was operated on after a shoulder injury. He suffered a setback and was forced into a new operation in January.

- I just got worse and worse, it was cracking and cracking all the time so I did an X-ray to see what had happened. It was the screws from my first surgery that were too long and damaged, which led to my cartilage damage, Zachrisson tells handbollskanalen.se about the problems.

He did not play a match during the past season. For almost a year he has been running rehabilitation.

- I'm not even close to a comeback. The doctor looking at my shoulder said it was a disaster. He said it may be that I will be able to play handball for a few more years or it is completely the other way around, that I will not be able to play at all, ”says Zacke.

Feel free to play in Guif again

The 29-year-old has begun to think about what to do after the handball. But he has not given up a comeback, preferably if it happens in Guif.

- If my shoulder had been good, I would probably have moved home already. I had a good contract with Guif this spring but because it was uncertain with my injury it did not happen. We'll see how the damage develops. If I can play handball again, there will be a return to Guif in the future. Right now, however, I am only happy if I will be able to play handball again, says Zachrisson.

The right sex has been playing in Berlin for the past seven years. Next week he will go to Germany as the pre-season with Füchse Berlin starts. The season looks set to start in October.
