According to the press service of Renault, the agreement with the Spaniard is designed for the season-2021.

Alonso will replace the Australian rider Daniel Riccardo in Renault, who will play for McLaren since 2021.

Alonso left Formula 1 in 2018, after which he performed in the North American IndyCar series and participated in the Dakar. The Spanish pilot became the champion of Formula 1 in 2005 and 2006 as part of Renault. He also played for Minardi, McLaren and Ferrari. 

In addition, Alonso is a two-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
