Chelsea coach Frank Lampard expressed his admiration for American player Christian Polisic, saying he raised his level to another stage after the American winger rocked the net during the 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace in the English Premier League yesterday.

The 21-year-old, who became the most expensive American player when he joined Chelsea in January 2019 for 64 million euros ($ 72.18 million), exceeded a muscle injury to score three goals in his last five games. Asked how important Polisec was, Lampard told Sky Sports: "He is very important. He has great talent and we know that very well. He came here at the start of the season in difficult circumstances, and we didn't actually get a vacation.

He added: "But he started playing very well with us and now raised his level to another stage. The great strikers in the world score goals regularly that give them winning matches, and at this moment he does so, so I am happy with him."

The outcome of Polisec in the league this season is eight goals in 16 games in the starting lineup, which increased the expectations of fans that it might reach the level of the former prominent London team player Eden Hazard.

"I don't put any restrictions on him and so he is not surprising to me. I know the size of his talent and wanted to help him when he first came here because of the physical nature of the league. I succeeded in doing that and then unfortunately he was badly injured."
