The National Olympic Committee participated in a workshop "The impact of the Corona pandemic on the sports sector", organized by the Sports Department of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, using visual communication technology, the day before yesterday, for the secretaries of all the Gulf Olympic Committees.
The Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee, Muhammad bin Sulayem, during his opening speech to the workshop, which included four axes, conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee to the attendees, indicating that his Highness initiated proactive decisions, which included Community safety and protection from harm, which is always the top priority of the Olympic Committee, based on the directives of our wise leadership, and its lofty vision of preserving the human element, and providing all ways and means, that ensure its protection from any diseases or epidemics.
A press statement said: “Bin Sulayem expressed his happiness at the great efforts made to serve the sports sector in the Gulf Cooperation Council, especially since the recent challenges played a great role in changing the concept of sports activities, and reconsidering how to deal with major events and forums, in light of the existence of this type of Crises ».
Bin Sulayem discussed the precautionary measures taken by the UAE, especially in the sports sector, whether by conducting periodic sterilization of facilities and examinations of players, and the construction of various headquarters to examine the "Covid-19" virus, in various geographical locations at the state level, and the participation of volunteers from sports councils and clubs working in The headquarters, within the first-line defense teams. The statement said: “The efforts of the sports institutions were discussed with the competent authorities, which included printing the guide and protocol, and the detailed instructions list for private clubs, training centers and academies, in Arabic and English, and all the procedures and measures required to be met, starting with the continuous sterilization from accredited bodies, through to To the absorptive capacity that does not exceed 50% of the previous energy, and to ensure the safety of the participants, and the distances between athletes ».
During the workshop, the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee stated that the sports federations in the UAE struck an honorable model in dealing with crises, and that they did not stop performing tasks, including the Football Association which organized the largest global medical medical sports conference, with the system of video communication (remote), with the participation of More than 2000 specialists in medical work, in various national federations and international clubs.
