Lucas Ocampos said he had the craziest game he ever played on Monday. The Sevilla winger scored the only goal against Eibar (1-0) and prevented the equalizer deep in injury time as the occasional goalkeeper.
25-year-old Ocampos put on the goalkeeper gloves in the seventh minute of injury time, because goalkeeper Tomas Vaclík had to go to the side injured and Sevilla had already changed five times. A minute later, the Argentinian managed to prevent the equalizer of Eibar goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic with a nice save.
"This is definitely the craziest and most special game I've ever played," said Ocampos after the game, quoted by El Mundo Deportivo . "It is not always easy for us to cross a line and that is why I am very happy that we won."
Ocampos, who had given Sevilla the lead just after half-time, never thought that he would ever have to keep in a real game. "I always enjoy being a goalkeeper, but in training when we are doing free practice."
"Before I put on the gloves, I got some instructions from the goalkeeper coach. He said to me, 'don't make the mistake of standing next to your goal.' That's what I tried," said Ocampos.
Seville's victory was not insignificant, as the current number four of La Liga now has a six point lead over number five Villarreal and has almost a Champions League ticket with four duels to go.
WHAT AN AMAZING FINAL STAGE 😍Ocampos has to go for goal because Vaclik has been injured and takes a bet from enemy keeper Dmitrovic in the 102nd minute 😱😂Ocampos also scored the only goal enige #SEVEIB #LaLiga #ZiggoSportAvatar
