The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Chess Club, Dr. Abdullah Al Barakat, said in the statement that the club is looking forward to a rapid and decisive intervention to solve the problem that the chess system in the country is experiencing, which started to descend to levels that are not appropriate to the reputation and status of Emirati sports in general and chess in particular, with It was not possible to find effective solutions to reduce the repercussions of this problem.

Six of the board members of the chess federation submitted their resignations at the end of last year from various positions in protest against what they called the union president's sole decision-making, and a number of clubs had previously issued press statements asking the General Authority for Sports to intervene to dissolve the board of directors due to the illegality of its current status.

He continued: “It is not logical that our sport called smart sport and the game of kings cannot find solutions to it, which puts us in embarrassment in front of the great fan base for fans, followers and players and chess players in the state, and another embarrassment before the regional and continental federations especially that the UAE chess comes to the fore In hosting and organizing the major world championships, we have linked with the International Chess Federation and the International Federation to develop chess matters and the Asian and Arab federations have strong ties, and we have an important balance that is threatened with loss if we do not reach a solution soon.
