- I love the big hill, I think it's much more fun. And I get a completely different calm when I jump it, she says when SVT Sport meets her in the enchanting home hill Paradiskullen, a 90-meter hill where she wears pre-season training in pairs with constant companion Åke Norman.

The former world cup runner and league captain has returned to the sport to help the young talent reach the top. They have been working together since 2017 and Norman has spent both private money and all the holidays to help the project.

He sees a great potential in her, especially in just the big hill.

"The bigger the slopes the better"

- She has a damn good feeling for flying. The bigger the slopes, the better. She still doesn't have the physics right, but a damn good feeling ..

In fact, Astrid Norstedt would prefer to experience even larger formats, such as in skiing, slopes with jump lengths down to 250 meters. So far, the International Ski Federation (Fis) prohibits ladies in such large facilities. Waiting for that barrier to fall, she looks forward to getting the World Cup jump on the big hill, which has its premiere in Oberstdorf this winter.

SVT Sports back-jumping expert Anders Daun also notes a solid development at Astrid Norstedt, who landed at 128 meters at the longest.

- Her low level has increased significantly. The bad hopes are much better than they used to be. A more stable hopper with better basic technique.
