As if Saturday's premiere victory - 3-2 away against newcomer Umeå - was not good enough for Piteå, it got even better a few days later.

Earlier this week, the club received a pleasant call.

-Two days ago a bank official called and told me that he had a customer who wanted to donate a considerable amount to Piteå's ladies and that the person wanted to be anonymous. When he then says it is half a million SEK, I got goose bumps. The hair stood up straight on my arms and I had a hard time holding back my tears. The money is now on its way into the account and it is quite unlikely, says chairman Rikard Fahlman.

On Thursday, Fahlman visited the team's training to tell. The message of the gift of 500,000 was received with cheering by the player squad.

What does such a sum mean for a club like Piteå?

-Now we look to fix this despite the misery of the corona. We will finish this season and now we dare to think longer than after the series game. We are in port and more than that.

In addition to the donation, Piteå has previously arranged free accommodation at a hotel in Småland Eksjö all season when they have away matches in southern Sweden.

-It's absolutely amazing that there are such people. Both the hotel owner in Eksjö, which is a separate chapter, and now this half a million.

The Northern Bots also received just over 200,000 in state financial compensation support in June.
