The Indycar Championship rolls on to the weekend with the second race of the season, at the Indianapolis motor speedway. It is not the legendary Indy500 that should be run, but the competition is mostly on the inside of the large oval of the arena. For Felix Rosenqvist, it is a good chance to take the season's first podium.

- I like the track, last year I took my first pole position there. So I think we have a good chance to hunt for pallet space, ”he tells SVT Sport.

"Important to release it"

In early June, the first race was run and it looked a long time to be a dream opening on the season for Rosenqvist. He and teammate Scott Dixon were a class of their own, but with ten laps remaining Rosenqvist lost control of the car, and a safe pallet seat became a 20th place.

- It was so snowy that I was second, on oval that is not usually my strong side. It would have been a great result for me to take second place there. But now it's out of the system and I've started thinking ahead instead. It is important to let go, otherwise you will never get ahead, he says.

Like all other athletes, it was an unusually long break for the drivers before the season started and now he is more ready than ever.

- It's been nice having a break and staying up a bit. Now you really feel that you have the glow and that it is really fun to be up and running again. Everyone in the whole team is super-charged and just wants to compete now, says Felix Rosenqvist.
