The club of Amiens announced Thursday to have introduced a new appeal in summary procedure before the Council of State in order to cancel its relegation in Ligue 2, which it disputes for more than two months. "In view of the non-compliance by the Professional Football League with the injunction of the judge of summary proceedings of the State Council of June 9, 2020 to review the format of the Ligue 1 championship for the 2020-21 season, and the lack of "impartiality of the LFP in the re-examination of this file, Amiens SC has filed appeals for interim measures and the merits before the Council of State", wrote the club.
The Picardy formation has already presented itself with an emergency procedure (interim suspension) before the highest administrative court. The latter urged, on June 9, the authorities of French football to re-examine the question of the format of the L1. However, after new meetings, League (LFP) and Federation (FFF) rejected the enlargement of the championship from 20 to 22 teams, which would have kept Amiens and Toulouse, both demoted at the end of the truncated 2019-20 season by the coronavirus.

After a vote of the Federal Assembly of the FFF on June 26, the TFC announced that it accepted its fate in L2, contrary to the Picardy formation which continues its combat in the courts. Amiens SC had also brought an action on the merits for the first time - a procedure which takes several months, which could lead to compensation.
The Council of State was also seized by the clubs of Mans and Orleans, which contest their relegation in third division. Their hearing is scheduled for Friday, and the order (decision) of the judge in summary in the following days. The 2020-2021 seasons of L1 and L2 are scheduled to start the weekend of August 22.
