Saitama Ogawa-cho golf course goes bankrupt. New Corona reduces customer traffic July 1, 10:33

The operating company of Ogawa Country Club, a golf course in Saitama Prefecture, has been stuck in cash due to a decrease in the number of users due to the influence of the new coronavirus, and applied for the Civil Rehabilitation Law to the court. Going forward, we will continue to operate and seek the cooperation of our members and business partners to reduce debt and rebuild our business.

The Ogawa Country Club, a golf course management company in Ogawa-machi, Saitama, applied for the Civil Rehabilitation Law.

According to the lawyer of the company and his agent, the "Ogawa Country Club" opened in 1966 attracted a large number of passengers from the Tokyo metropolitan area due to its good location close to the Kanetsu Expressway interchange. In the past few years, as the golf population has decreased, competition for price reductions has intensified and income has dropped.

In addition, due to the impact of the new coronavirus, the number of users decreased, and we were unable to manage our funds. On June 26, we applied to the Tokyo District Court to apply the Civil Rehabilitation Law. The total debt is about 2.5 billion yen, and while continuing to operate, we will seek the cooperation of our members and business partners to reduce debt and aim to rebuild our business.

According to a private credit research company, Teikoku Databank, this is the first time a golf course has failed due to the new coronavirus.
