Johan Stark most recently resigned from his position as Secretary General of the Swedish Basketball Association. He has previously been club director at Brynäs IF.

- I feel that I go to a big and exciting role. I have previously been involved in ice hockey as a club director, which I see as an advantage for my future work. Being Secretary General of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association is one of the coolest positions one can hold, so now I am incredibly motivated to get started, says Johan Stark in a press release.

Turbulent time

The Swedish Ice Hockey Association has a turbulent time behind it. In the spring, SVT Sport was able to reveal that the ice hockey association was accused of gender-discriminatory pay. The trade union club at the Swedish Ice Hockey Association sent out an official protest against the union's salary in November, but Secretary-General Tommy Boustedt denied.

During the spring, a police investigation was also conducted with links to the hockey association. There, a trial awaits in the fall when a former employee is charged with sexual misconduct.

"A lousy time"

Shortly after SVT Sports's disclosures, Tommy Boustedt announced that he would retire as Secretary General.

- The past year has been a lousy time for both the federal office, and of course for me personally. Therefore, after a period of discussion with the board, it has emerged that this is the way forward for both me and the union, Tommy Boustedt said in a press release.
