It is anything but a surprise. OM have decided to exercise the option to buy Spanish defender Alvaro Gonzalez. He has signed up for three seasons with OM, the club announced on Tuesday. Loaned by Villarreal at the start of the season, Alvaro Gonzalez had a purchase option that was triggered automatically after five games. He finally played 24 games at OM, for a single defeat, in the Coupe de France.
His 2019-20 season is "more than finished," said OM in its press release, which states that Alvaro Gonzalez is nicknamed "El Patron" in the locker room.
