Tadej Pogacar took revenge on Primoz Roglic on Sunday. The 21-year-old rider won the Slovenian time trial championship and thus prevented a 'double' from Roglic.
Pogacar did 31 minutes and 10 seconds in the rain over a difficult course of 15.7 kilometers from Zgornje Gorje to Pokljuka. Roglic, 30, was 9 seconds short of his countryman.
The top duo put the competition far behind. Jan Polanc, a teammate of Pogacar, finished third at 1 minute and 47 seconds.
Last week, Jumbo-Visma rider Roglic took the Slovenian title on the road by dealing with Pogacar in the first UCI race since the corona crisis.
The top talent of UAE-Team Emirates already booked his fifth victory of the significantly changed cycling season on Sunday. In February Pogacar won two stages and took the overall victory in the Tour of Valencia and was the best in a stage in the Tour of the United Arab Emirates.
