The last two years of series two Gothenburg, together with Rosengård, are damall Swedish gold favorites this year.

They have recruited several renowned players. One of these is the national team striker Stina Blackstenius. She left Linköping last winter, in a transition that became clear only after several months of negotiations, which was decided only when Gothenburg took the matter to the Swedish Football Association's arbitration board.

Had to wait for 1–0

When Gothenburg today started the season playing at home against Kristianstad, the 24-year-old got to start on the bench. There, she got to see her team dominate, but did not score 1-0 until the 41st minute when one of Blackstenius's competitors on attack, Rebecka Blomqvist, came free and safely rolled in 1-0.

The same Blomqvist did 2-0 in a similar way already two minutes into the second half, and two minutes later Natalia Kuikka put the nail in the coffin by doing 3-0.

After 65 minutes, Blackstenius had to jump in and replace two-goal shooter Rebecka Blomqvist. Twenty minutes later, she got a huge 5-1 position when she was basically free, but Brett Maron came out and made himself big, saving Blackstenius's finish.
