Lundqvist already noted a new record in qualifying last Friday. In today's competition, he led each lap until it waved a checkered goal flag.

The Swede was finally 3.4 seconds ahead of Indy Lights-merited David Malukas.

- This was an almost perfect race. I was a little worried about the start because I barely had any time to practice that moment in this car, but it went well and I didn't have to defend myself into the first curve. Then I tried to build a gap during the first ten laps, and then it was just to take the car to the finish, says Lundqvist in a press release.

Lundqvist will also start Sunday's race in pole position as he had today's fastest lap time.
- I can hardly wait for the second race tomorrow and the goal is of course to repeat this then.
