"Kurre" Hamrin became the first player to do hattrick in both matches against a team during one season, in 1957/58, when he struck three times in both Padova's matches against Genoa (in the home game there were even four).

That company was no one to repeat until the 2007/08 season, when Genoa's Marco Borriello did hattrick both times the team met Udinese.

Netted with half volley

Tonight it was time again, because when Parma met Genoa, Parma's Danish Andreas Cornelius did the same as when the team won 5-1 at home last fall, namely three goals.

The first came in the 18th minute, when he was careful to score in front of goal and managed to put the post that goalkeeper Mattia Perin failed to hit properly.

A quarter of a minute later, just five minutes after Domenico Criscito's penalty hit the post after a touch by goalkeeper Luigi Sepo, he struck with a fine half volley.

An assist as well

And just eight minutes into the second half, the hat-trick was completed, as he ventured forward and leapt into Vincent Laurini's well-balanced post.

Before the game was over, Cornelius had also been noted for an assist. In the 87th minute, he nodded a pass to the Swedish national team player Dejan Kulusevski, who, after twisting and turning inside the penalty area, finished just beside the right post - Kulusevski's sixth goal of the season.
