The Serbian club Red Star Belgrade announced on Monday that five of its players tested positive for coronavius. The announcement comes 12 days after the cup semi-final between the Serbian champion and his great rival, the Partizan (1-0 defeat). The match was played in front of 16,000 spectators, an unprecedented affluence in Europe since the start of the pandemic which had put an end to all sports competitions in March.

Football competitions have resumed in many countries on the European continent, but the trend is currently behind closed doors for health reasons.
