Two-time US Masters winner Watson had a tough day on the third round of the PGA Tour in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The American, who went the same ball as world champion Rory Mcllroy, walked a total of two over par during the day and is far from the lead.

But he was also involved in a bizarre experience. After he landed in the bunker with his catch on the 17th hole, the American discovered that a mini-crab crawled under the ball. Watson did not dare to play the ball, but called for a referee.

The TV cameras caught the sound of a slightly confused Watson talking to Mcllroy.

"People get angry if I turn on an animal"

- I don't want the world to get mad at me, you understand? People get angry if I turn on an animal.

Just when the referee arrived, the crab had moved away from the ball and Watson was able to continue playing.

Alex Norén climbed six places, to a shared 16th place, after playing five strokes under par. In total, he is now 12 strokes under par for the final round.

In the lead is a quartet consisting of Englishman Tyrrell Hatton, Mexican Abraham Ancer and Americans Ryan Palmer and Webb Simpson, all of whom have fifteen strokes under par for Sunday's fourth round.
