The President of Zamalek Club had appeared in a video on Echo Al-Balad TV confirming his agreement to grant Al-Ahly the title and cancel the tournament for fear of the health of the players due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, which sparked controversy and surprise about the reason Mortada Mansour agreed to give the title to his traditional rival easily.
The club president revealed in a new intervention through the Zamalek channel, in response to some accusing him of neglecting the league title and granting it to Al-Ahly, saying: “The 13 clubs signed the memorandum requesting the cancellation of the league, which included the clause of considering Al-Ahly a champion of the league as a consideration, as applied in other European and African models.”
